OUR STORY

Treerings began as a humble backyard startup several years ago in Perth's hills. Since then, the product and its development process have been extensively experimented with, tested and refined to achieve a reliable and effective solution for plant nutrition and water retention.

 

Treerings were first introduced to the community at a local market in December 2019. Strong demand since then has led to investment in specialised machinery to automate the Treering-making process and the establishment of a commercial premises.

 

Treerings have also undergone extensive real-world trials in challenging Australian conditions. Environmental trials conducted with the City of Bayswater and IGO Limited demonstrated significantly improved plant survival and growth when Treerings were used. In council bushland trials, survival rates increased from around 30% without Treerings to approximately 75% with Treerings. In large-scale mine rehabilitation trials involving over 2,000 planted tubestocks, plants with Treerings achieved survival rates of up to 95%. Controlled testing has also confirmed Treerings can absorb and gradually release water for up to 14 days, helping plants remain hydrated for longer in dry conditions.

 

In 2022 Treerings were awarded the Gold Winner accolade in the Product Design category at the Australian Good Design Awards. The Good Design Awards are the highest honour for design and innovation in the country.

Today, Treerings are recognised as an innovative and proven solution for supporting plant establishment, improving soil health and helping gardens, landscapes and rehabilitation projects thrive.
